Sarah Warran

Sarah joined our team in 2022 as a senior youth worker in charge of a new project focused on social action projects with young people. It came at a time when the project was in need of some experienced staff with a viewpoint other than Benwell. Sarah had been in youth work for 27 years in the east end and the city centre, although having now been out of youth work for a few years her experience fit the bill perfectly.

It took some adjustment but Sarah came into the team like a breath of fresh air, her kind and caring personality along with a fierce political viewpoint, her well-educated mind enabled her to build life lasting relationships with young people and especially the staff team.

Sarah spent a few years learning about Benwell and its norms, the locality and ins and outs of the area before taking on another role within the organisation. She spent a lot of time 1 to 1 with Lynne learning about the backroom running’s of patchwork. She now has a combined role at the project, balancing the finances and many other administrative roles with her youth work core and desire to educate young people.
