Missi Ashton Taundry
Sessional Worker
Early on in her relationship with Patchwork as a young person Missy displayed the traits and qualities that would make her a good youthworker. She organised her own group and cajoled and reminded people to attend, without seeming to take power. She took a lighthearted and caring approach to volunteering e.g. making sure a beach trip by metro included everything anyone could need, keeping order and keeping people safe, with charm and a smile.
As a trainee she studied for her L2 in youthwork, and has countless hours and training to demonstrate the breadth of learning and experience over the 6 years she has formally worked for Patchwork. She is both capable and caring and a role model for other young women.
As a sessional worker, Missy has the freedom to work flexibly, continuing her relationship with the project and the children and young people she has supported whilst following her own dreams.
